Auction Overview - Call for Donations PDF Print

The Auction of donated items draws a crowd of deal-seekersEach year the primitive artisans at the Stone Age and Primitive Arts Festival hold an auction to sell items that each of them has donated. Items range from flint knapping materials/supplies to finely crafted artistic items such as carvings, projectile points, pottery and much more.

The proceeds from this action are then donated by the artists to the Ochlockonee River State Park HOSP fund. HOSP is an abbreviation for Help Our State Parks. All funds donated to the HOSP account at Ochlockonee River are earmarked for the park and can only be used for needs at Ochlockonee River.

Each year the park asks for the funds to be released back to the festival and the amount that was donated from the previous year’s auction is used to help fund the event. Items such as tents and paid advertising have been acquired using these funds. This has worked out well for the park, and the artisans can easily see how their donations have helped. The auction is held at 1:00 pm on Saturday of the event. The public is welcome to bid and this can be great fun, not to mention you might get an awesome item for a great price.
